SUSSEX, Va. (AP) - Michael Vick's trial in Virginia on state
dogfighting charges is being pushed back.
The trial, which had been set for April 2nd, has been
rescheduled for June 27th.
Trials for two of Vick's co-defendants also have been postponed.
The suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback is serving a 23-month
prison term in Leavenworth, Kansas, after pleading guilty to a
federal dogfighting conspiracy charge.
A prosecutor cited logistics of getting a federal prisoner into
state court as the reason for the delays.
Vick has been charged with two state felony counts, each
punishable by up to five years in prison.
