OZARK, Ala. (AP) - Two men are charged with felony dog fighting
after a gruesome discovery in the southeast Alabama city of Ozark.
A bail bondsman looking for a man found the remains of two pit
bulls with their necks still tied to logging chains. Another dog
was found half buried, and three malnourished dogs were discovered
alive but barely able to stand.
The scene led to arrests warrants being issued for 28-year-old
Anthony Artez Williams and 21-year-old Tiffany Napper of Ozark.
They are accused of six counts of felony dog fighting.
Police Chief Tony Spivey says more people may be charged.
Spivey says the three malnourished dogs were taken to a
veterinarian for treatment. The remains of the three dead dogs were
sent to a state laboratory for testing.
