MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A death row inmate who's been fighting
Alabama's method of lethal injection has lost his battle with
cancer.
Daniel Siebert died at the prison where he'd been awaiting
execution for more than 21 years for strangling four people.
Siebert claimed his cancer medication would interact with the
lethal injection drugs and cause unnecessary pain. His death comes
less than a week after the U.S. Supreme Court approved the most
widely used method of lethal injection, prompting states to move
forward with executions after a nearly seven-month halt.
Esther Brown with the group Project Hope to Abolish the Death
Penalty says Siebert "hoped to die from the cancer before he was
executed."
Alabama Attorney General Troy King says "It's a shame" Siebert
"got what he wanted."

I think there is an old saying in Law Schools.  What happens to those in the bottom of the class?  They become judges.

A death sentence automatically gets a person special treatment in jail and automatic appeals that on average are stretched out over a 20 year period of time.

Because there have been some people on death row that were later proved to be innocent because of DNA, everyone is a little reluctant to pull the switch.  If there is absolutely no doubt about guilt, I say zap them before they leave the courthouse.

I think we need a law that states After someone is sentenced to death they have 3 years to appeal and then the sentence should be carried out.  It burns me up when I hear about the poor criminals - They broke the law they should have to pay for their crimes.—Everyone always forgets about the victims of these people.

Oh you know he has.... cancer treatments.... food .... medical bills and for what ???? Maybe our country would be in less of a financial bind if all of the death row inmates would acutally be put to death.... 21 years???? I’m furious!
