hurt after a a high-speed passenger train jumped the tracks in
eastern China and slammed into another train.
China's Xinhua (shin-wah) News Agency says 70 people are in
critical condition after the early morning collision in a rural
area in Shandong province.
About 10 train cars tumbled into a ditch.
News photos showed rescuers pulling passengers from a train car
that had fallen onto its side. Survivors bundled in white bed
sheets from the sleeper cars stood or sat near the wreckage.
Xinhua says bloodstained sheets were strewn on the ground beside
the train cars.
