this week got a fistful of cash, but not in the way he intended.
The would-be robber encountered a 17-year-old supervisor in the
restaurant's back office as she counted money. When he pointed the
gun at her, she pushed the weapon away and began fighting - all
with a bundle of bills clenched in her hand.
The teen, whose name was withheld, suffered minor cuts and
bruises after the suspect struck her with his gun. She managed to
grab the money and run to the front of the restaurant while the
gunman ran out a back entrance to the business.
A manager at the restaurant said the teen originally thought the
holdup was a joke and that was why she acted bravely to fight him
off.
The Monday night robbery attempt was captured on a surveillance
tape. No arrests were made.
