We have an update to a story we brought you last month involving passengers aboard the Holiday cruise ship getting sick. The Holiday left Mobile January 24th on a five day cruise to Mexico. Carnival Cruise Lines said 121 passengers and 22 crew members came down with what is most likely Norovirus. Since our story aired, a lot of you have been writing in with concerns about the cleanliness of the ship and whether it is safe for future cruises. We contacted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. A spokesperson says the Holiday has submitted stool samples from people who got sick on that January cruise for the CDC to analyze, those results are still pending. The CDC says 25 of nearly 15-hundred passengers aboard the very next cruise, which left Mobile on January 28th, reported being ill. The CDC says Carnival has done additional cleaning and disinfection of the Holiday. And, they are providing daily updates to the CDC. The CDC also says Carnival will continue to do that until the number of sick people returns to expected levels. We also contacted Carnival. A spokesperson says the Holiday's staff continues to aggressively clean and sanitize the ship and it believes the measures are working. Neither Carnival nor the CDC considers the 25 people who got sick on the very next cruise to be an outbreak.

Sorry for the mis-spelled words I am so sick and exhausted.
I hope you can make out the words.

Ok I also have not had any feedback and I have been calling the CDC everyday and cannot talk to a human????? I was on the cruise 1/24/08-1/28/08 I was sick from Sat-the following SAT.
No it haas been 2 weeks to the day and guess what I feel the same exact way as I did on that boat??
I was wondering if anyone else has had a relapse? Or if they ever found out for sure what this virus was? My fiance and daughter never caught this??? I guess I will be forking some more money out to go back to the doctor.
Please let me know if anyone finds out anything!!!!!

Thanks,
Kim

OK ... but is Carnival going to step-up and give reparations to those whose cruises were ruined because of the outbreak on the January 24-28 cruise?

I have never been as sick as I was when I got the Norovirus on that ship ... and since this is considered an outbreak ... I think that they should cough up some cruise vouchers (for the ones who got sick, and for their travelling companions).

I have tried to contact Carnival, because 12 of the 38 people in the group I took got sick ... but all I’ve gotten in return is an email saying that someone will get back with me sometime.

This was not my first cruise with Carnival ... and I don’t think it will be my last ... but I think they need to show some good-faith measures.
