Deputies say the couple drove to Bruner Middle School in Fort Walton Beach on April 24. Once in the parking lot, a man got out holding a small, grey and white cat and let two medium-sized, brown dogs out of the back of the SUV. He used the cat to taunt the dogs, then sat back and watched what happened.
The cat's body was found in the parking lot the next day.
The Sheriff's Office is hoping someone might recognize the SUV in the surveillance photos. Deputies say it's a dark colored, late model, possibly 2006, GMC Yukon on Chevy Tahoe with chrome wheels and a sun roof.Anybody with information about this animal cruelty case is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 850.609.2000, Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) at 850.243.1525 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850.863.TIPS. They have a photo of the vehicle, do they not have the ability and technology to crop and resample the image and clarify the tag number ??? At any rate, even if caught, they will only fine them a couple hundred bucks, and let em back on the street.
