Closing arguments wrapped up this afternoon in Marsha Colby's murder trial. Jury deliberations started at 2:45 pm. It took about an hour for them to come back with a guilty verdict.
Because this was a capital murder case, Colby was automatically sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Colby was arrested in February of 2005 about two weeks after giving birth to her son Timothy. Police found his body buried behind Colby's trailer. Colby's attorney claims the baby was stillborn.

Even if the baby was “stillborn”, what kind of mother would have buried him in the backyard?!? It takes a SICK person to do what she did. In cases like this, lawyers try to claim mental illness. If this was true, why would they understand that what they did was wrong and try to lie and cover it up.
The lawyer that defended her and tried to help her should serve jail time too! “Aiding and abedding” (probably spelled wrong) is a crime!! If it was a friend who’d helped her, they would go to jail, right?
