"He just wasn't holding the dope, he was manufacturing the dope and he was distributing the dope," says Baldwin County Sheriff Hoss Mack. Laid out on a table in front of him, three pounds of powder and crack cocaine, ten thousand dollars in cash and James Edward Foster is back behind bars.
Jail is a familiar place for Foster he was convicted of similar charges in 2000 and given a life sentence but only served five years before he was paroled.
"We believe this drug flow was impacting south Baldwin county particularly around the Foley area and we believe this to be a very significant bust because not only is it a crack cocaine bust but it's a powder cocaine bust," says Sheriff Mack.
A travel trailer between Summerdale and Foley is where narcotics officers say Foster made and sold his drugs. It's something the Sheriff says he's done all is adult life. "There is such a thing as a career criminal no matter how many times you parole them they are going to get back involved in criminal activity. It's a learned trade, it's a lifestyle and it is one they are willing to take the risk."
This time Foster faces federal drug charges. Mack says maybe this time he'll serve the entire sentence.
The sheriff says the drugs have a street value of 100 thousand dollars.
