LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. (AP) - He could barely reach the pedal, but
one 7-year-old boy managed to take the family car out for a spin in
his Lehigh Acres neighborhood.
A Florida Highway Patrol spokesman says John Vega took the keys
to the car, drove it out of his driveway and crashed into several
trees and a mailbox along the way.
Vega is being treated at Lee Memorial Hospital for minor
injuries.
In all, authorities say the boy drove about 200 feet from start
to finish.

I agree Del.  Where were the parents?

Del,

I agree the child is wrong and should be punished.  However, as a person without a college degree and from Alabama, my child “knew” better.

Let’s pat him and his parents on the back, give him 15 minutes of fame.  Hold the parents accountable for this child.  Where were the parents while this child was obviously unsupervised.

My children were never out of eyesight or hearing when they were 10 and under, and over 10 they new better.  Because as an educated mother of 2, I taught them right from wrong and that there was a serious reaction to the actions they took.
