Officers will be looking to see if people are wearing seatbelts and whether kids are in car seats. They will also be checking to see if drivers are carrying registration, proof of insurance and a valid drivers license.
The checkpoints will be set up roads in the Fourth Precinct which covers the northwest area of Mobile, north of Airport and west of I-65.
Police will set up the checkpoints about 6 p.m. and continue past midnight.

thanks for the info regarding MPD checkpoints. a shopping excursion and visitation of friends were placed on hold. these blockades are designed to extract money from the public under the appearance of safety. It also generates an opportunity for law enforcement to intimidate the public without probable cause. Change “to protect and serve” to “to intimidate and harass”
