- Alabama Port fire is still burning but is contained
- Smoke and ashes are still in the air.
- The fire threatened three structures. An abandoned trailer burned.

Update 4:15 p.m.
- Firefighters believe they have the fires under control. There are more than one small fires burning in the area.
- The initial fire was started as a controlled burn from Wetland Mitigation to help protect wetlands from major brush fires breaking out.
- At least one structure was burned, but it was abandoned.
- Initial fire burned 400 out of 850 acres. Alabama Forestry tells News 5 that they are not sure how many acres have burned. Earlier, we were told 850 acres had burned.
- Forestry is cutting breaks in the ground to keep fire from spreading.
- News 5's crew is currently around 9th Street and Dakota Drive in Alabama Port.
A fire that started as a controlled burn has firefighters scrambling to contain it. The fire is near Highway 188 and Highway 193 in the Alabama Port area. The burn involves 850 acres.
