indecent exposure and resisting arrest at Samford University had
been arrested on similar charges at the University of Alabama five
months ago.
Homewood Police Chief Phil Dodd told The Birmingham News today
that 37-year-old Richard Hightower had also previously served four
years in a Mississippi prison on felony convictions of indecent
exposure on another person's property and auto burglary.
Hightower has been jailed in Homewood all week.
University of Alabama spokeswoman Cathy Andreen says Hightower
was also arrested November 1 on that campus. He was charged with
indecent exposure, sexual abuse, public lewdness, criminal
trespassing, receiving stolen property and resisting arrest.
Homewood police had received reports over the past two years of
a man photographing female students through their windows at
Samford.
Dodd says police filled three vans from Hightower's apartment
with 10,000 CDs, gift cards made out to other people and cameras
and computer equipment.
