Get ready for some changes! Now that the Air Force has picked Northrop Grumman and EADS to build tankers, big changes are headed to Brookley Field. Some soil samples have already been taken at the site and construction will begin as soon as possible. Crews have to build a $600 million dollar facility to assemble and militarize the planes. EADS will take up 85 acres, Northrop Grumman's facility will take up another 85. Even more property has been set aside for suppliers. The tanker will create 1,500 jobs, but we aren't sure when the hiring process will begin. We will have much more on this story later today on News 5.
