People in Bayou La Batre want their garbage pick-up problem to go away fast and Mayor Stan Wright says Bayou La Batre is the answer.  The city has decided it will dump "Waste Management" and pick up the garbage itself.  But to make the plan work, residents will have to pay up some money.  Mayor Wright is asking for people to purchase 96 gallon trash cans.  Mayor Wrightsays if people can't afford them, the city may be able to bill them later.  Most people say they don't care who picks it up, just as long as the mess goes away.  "The city needs to get me a can.  They need to get everybody one.  And if we got to pay for it, we got to pay for it."  That's according to Charlie Jemison, a 35 year resident of Bayou La Batre.  Mayor Wright isn't sure how much the city will charge to pick up garbage, but he hopes it won't be more than 15-dollars a month.
