It was a frightening weekend for a Gulf Shores girl and her family. The eleven-year old told her parents she was nearly kidnapped while riding her bicycle home from a local park Friday evening.

"She's very scared and upset," says father Steve Smith. "When your child can't even go to a park without being scared, somebody's going to try and pick her up. I always keep a close watch on her, I thought this was a nice neighborhood."

The little girl told her father a black mustang pulled up to her while she was riding her bike home. She says the driver grabbed her shirt but she managed to pull free. Smith called the police.

"Right now, we're looking for a black mustang with "spinner rims," says Gulf Shores Police detective Skip Calloway. "We're very concerned about this."

Anyone with information on the attempted abduction is asked to call the Gulf Shores Police Department.
