A kidnapping or abduction is a parents worst fear. That fear came true for a Florida mother Tuesday. Sheriff's deputies in Santa Rosa County say a man abducted a two-year old girl from a mobile home near Highway 98 in Navarre.
"The toddler was playing outside on a trampoline and a man jumped the backyard fence and snatched her," says sheriff's spokesman Mark Ward. "The sheriff is pulling all his resources and manpower together to catch the suspect."
The little girl's grandmother was inside when the abduction happened. She spoke to News 5 about the terrifying incident.
"It's the worst thing that could ever happen," says Fredricka Gross. "My granddaughter is lucky to be alive, thank God she wasn't hurt."
The suspect is a male in his 20's, with dirty blonde hair, last seen wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. If you have any information about the case, call Santa Rosa Crimestoppers at 850-437-STOP.
