The fire happened last night at the Two Lion Convenience Store located at 763 Summerville Street in the Toulminville. The fire was reported at approximately 10:31 p.m. Firefighters discovered a small fire at the rear of the business and quickly extinguished it.
The fire started in a wood framed and screen addition that was built to cover multiple electrical boxes and condensers/compressors to the interior coolers. Fire investigators with Mobile Fire-Rescue recovered evidence that would indicate that the fire may have been deliberately set. The business was closed at the time of the fire and charges would be Arson 2nd degree.
Property damage is estimated at approximately $5,000 dollars. No injuries were reported.
