recommending that former Governor Don Siegelman avoid testifying
before Congress about his corruption case.

Davis, a former federal prosecutor, said that Republicans would
use the occasion to try to embarrass Siegelman by rehashing
unflattering details from his trial. In a letter to House Judiciary
Committee Chairman John Conyers today, Davis also said the
testimony could jeopardize Siegelman's appeal.
Last week, Conyers said the committee wants to bring Siegelman
