on animal cruelty charges today after 78 dogs were found at her home.
DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said 68-year-old Linda Wallin
was arrested this morning and later freed on an $18,000 bond.
Harris said his deputies helped Freda Waters from the county's
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals serve warrants at
the home.
That's where they found a large kennel in unsanitary condition.
Harris said it appears the dogs were being bred at the home and
sold.
The dogs will be examined at the society's Fort Payne kennel and
likely distributed to other society kennels in the area for
adoption.
The dogs included miniature schnauzers, giant schnauzers,
poodles, labradoodles and Labrador retrievers.
