people have been found inside a ransacked house on the city's South
Side.
Investigators say it appears the three men and two women had
been shot. A police official says all of the victims were in their
20s and all knew each other.
A police spokeswoman says there are no offenders in custody but
that they don't believe that a killer is on the loose. Police are
not commenting on whether it was a murder-suicide.
Even before the latest killings it had been a violent spring in
the city. Nine people died in 36 shootings over the past weekend.
The recent violence followed a six-month period during which
more than 20 Chicago public school students were shot to death.
