Troopers say 39 year old Don Buffkin was driving a pickup on Highway 90 around 5:00pm Thursday near Bridlewood Drive when he failed to make a curve, overcorrected and flipped.
A passenger, 42 year old gari Ann Buffkin was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Don Buffkin was pinned beneath the truck and was rescued by emergency crews.
According to the Highway Patrol, alcohol was involved in the accident.
In a separate accident around 12:30, the Highway Patrol says 62 year old Betty Sue Cook of Pensacola was killed when the car she was riding in left Bauer Road, hit a paved driveway, went airborne and hit a second driveway culvert where it abruptly stopped.
The driver, 32-year old Jayson Wayne Cook and another passenger sffered minor injuries.
According to investigators, charges are pending a blood test on the driver.
