The Sheriff's Office says the two were taken into custody at a house just a block away from where the shooting occured. "Witnesses put a vehicle here a gold color type Cadillac type Oldsmobile vehicle...we saw a vechicle matching that description, down the street that had been abandoned because of so many patrol cars in the area and then we saw two people run inside a house,"Said Glenn Austin a spokesman for the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say the shooting happened around four o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Tom Thumb service station on the corner of W and Lee Streets in Pensacola. Deputies swarmed the area within minutes after. "I heard one shot, I thought it was firecracker than I heard bah bah bah..so then I said that ain't a firecracker so I laid on the ground, "Said Ervin Richardson who says he witnessed the shooting while pumping gas.
Authorities say a man, whose name has not been released, was shot just steps from the service station, where he eventually stumbled to his death.
Richardson said he and other customers at the service station tried to help the man. "The guy told him don't move stay still , then I heard him... gasp for air ...and I said oh he's gonna go," Said Richardson.
Investigators believe the shooting was a result of a drug deal gone bad. The investigation is ongoing.
