The arrests are part of a citywide crackdown on crime called Project Safe Neighborhoods. Chief Michael Rowland says his officers conducted the sweeps after receiving tips from residents who are tired of seeing drugs in their neighborhood.
Most of the charges are for possession of marijuana. But three people were arrested on unrelated charges:
Lavelt Hale - carrying a pistol without a permit
Devin Bush - obstructing governmental operations
Rawley Bryars - DUI
Police also arrested a juvenile for possession of marijuana. He was booked into the Baldwin County Detention Center.
