their assistants can do the work she's doing...given her unique situation.
The 10-year-old just completed college work for the job.
The comments are directed toward the AP, Yahoo, and whichever media outlet falsely identified the girl as a veterinarian…
No one has any problem with her…
to all the people that are saying negative things towards this little girl,i wonder if you have anything better in your life then to sit around on the computer all day and judge a child that has done so much in such a short time.is it possable that your jelous/ because you are grown and have not done half of what she has?
i think she has done great and she has a great future ahead of her. keep up the great work sweetheart
Who cares what the title reads, it caught your attention didn’t it! That’s what press is about. This story is about an achivement of a kid our age thats helping our pets and greeting us with a smile because she’s enjoying what she does. 12 year old Adam and the 96.7 crew. http://www.wkid967fm.com
This title is very misleading. I felt like a liar telling some friends of mine about a ten year old veterinarian, when she was actually just an assistant. It is line calling a CNA a doctor. True, it is still an achievement for this amazing little girl, but the fact is that she is NOT a vet and they are falsely advertising this. I think the little girl is doing a great job and none of this negative writing is about her but directed towards the people who wrote the story. Congatulations to her.
“If there were more children out there spending there time...”
Maybe if you had spent less time raking blueberries, and more time studying…
The 3rd “there” should be spelled “their”
Truly this has become one of the most ridiculous comment sections that I have ever read. If there were more children out there spending there time as this young girl has then there would most likely be less crime committed by teen agers. I don’t know how old some of the people are that have made comments about this girl working and this whole ordeal about vet/vet assistant, but when I was a child (9) I was raking blueberries for school shopping and the such. Back then it was considered teaching responsibility.I truly don’t see what difference it makes where here father was, we know her mother was there with her...Her father was probably at work, or maybe he was sitting around his place playing on the computer trying to think up negative things to say about some poor womans’ child making news by doing some thing positive. I would certainly be proud of my daughter for doing what this young girl has done. Hope she won’t read the negatives, what a way to tear a child down for doing good.
If this 10-year-old girl wants to be a vet. assistant let her when she grows up. The two things that I want to know is at what age did she decide to become a vet. assistant, where is her father and why would her parents allow her to become a vet. assistant? I personally feel that if she wants to come and hang out the the staff or the animals at the clinic that is fine, but she shouldn’t be working at the young age of 10-years-old even though that she is brining in the pay check.
If this child were mine I personally would not allow her to become a vet. assistant until she turned 16 years of age.
The one thing that I would like to know is where this girl is 5 to 10 years from now.
Not everyone is going to watch the video and find out more than the articles EVERYWHERE saying “10 yr old Becomes a Veterinarian”!! Whether you want to admit it or not, that is a false headline! My grandfather was a veterinarian and you cannot interchange vet assistant with veterinarian UNLESS you want to pump up a story to get attention...Bless her heart she is doing a great job! I think it’s wonderful! BUT I have had several people today say, Did you hear about the 10 yr old vet? and when they find out she did coursework to be a vet assistant (this is the same thing as calling a 10 yr old CNA a DOCTOR) their reaction is sort of Well that’s dumb! Why are they saying VET? and the result is it actually TAKES AWAY from her accomplishment! The exaggeration takes away from the wonderful thing she has done when people realize she isn’t a vet at 10 she is an assistant - HUGE difference.
What a great story I think she should be very proud of herself and I know her parents are very proud...I think it’s refeshing in today’s world to read a positive story like this. I also think her Mom deserves a pat on the back for going to work with her Daughter allowing her Daughter to fullfill her dream.
To the one that made the comment about my spelling, I didn’t realize we were in here to put each other down. The is to be a comment area about the so called misleading title of some news report that was trying to cover a story about a ten year old getting a college degree for an assistant Vet. The remark about my studying instead of raking blueberries was pretty harsh. As most people are aware, blueberries are raked during a season that is before the school year starts. Before I were to criticize anyone, I would first want to know more about them. I am not 100% certain I would belittle anyone. Who am I to judge?...It seems as though there are some here that still have difficulty comprehending the positive feed from this tid bit of news. I truly feel sorry for those people. Throughout my life I have found that way to much energy is wasted on negative things. When I fail to smell the roses I miss out on a part of what a rose truly is. Again, I say to the young girl. you go girl!
