TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Governor Riley has increased the reward
for information in the unsolved killing of a University of Alabama
student who survived a tour of duty in Iraq only to be gunned down
once back home.
Riley doubled the reward to $10,000 in the unsolved murder of
21-year-old Conrad Hollis. He was shot to death on October 28th,
2006, after attending a homecoming concert on campus.
Police said Hollis was a passenger in a Nissan Pathfinder that
rear-ended another vehicle after the concert. Investigators believe
the driver of the other car followed them home and shot Hollis when
he exited the vehicle in their driveway.
Captain Loyd Baker, commander of the Tuscaloosa County Metro
Homicide Unit
, said there are still questions about what happened
immediately following the accident.
Investigators are still searching for a woman who was with the
shooter.
