Arrests made in shooting death of 3-year-old

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - - UPDATE: 10:04 -  Huntsville Police have arrested three people in connection with last night’s shooting at 615 Murray Road. Dominique Marshawn Russell, 26; Brittany Nicole Kingston, 26; and Martin Arrendondo Evenes, 26; are charged with capital murder. 

Officers were called to the Murray Road home March 7 after 911 calls reporting a shooting at approximately 630p.m. When officers responded to the scene, they found shell casings in the street and a 3-year-old shooting victim in the house. The child was hit by one of the bullets as she was sleeping. HEMSI and Huntsville Fire & Rescue performed emergency medical treatment. The child was later pronounced dead at Huntsville Hospital.  

Investigators worked through the night to piece together details of the shooting. Witnesses report the incident stemmed from an ongoing argument. A confrontation during the day continued over social media through the evening, involving acquaintances of the child’s mother. 

Through interviews and physical evidence, police determined the listed offenders drove by the house and fired several rounds as a result of this argument. 

Russell, Kingston, and Evenes are being held in the Madison County  Jail without bond.

UPDATE: - Huntsville Police say the 2-year-old child involved in last nights shooting incident has passed away. HPD Spokesperson Michael Johnson says, "several subjects were taken into custody early this morning and are still being questioned. An arrest is imminent at this time."

The Huntsville Police Department responded to a shooting call on Wednesday evening.

The incident took place at 615 Murray Road around 7pm.

Officers responded to the scene and discovered shell casings in the street and a 2 yr old victim in the house.

The child was asleep on the couch when a drive by shooter came by in front of the house and fired several rounds at the house.

One bullet went through the front of the house and hit the child.

The child is critical.

There are no witnesses at the time of this email that can give an account of the vehicle description that was involved.

The mother of the child was home at the time.
