South hired former Auburn linebacker as assistant coach

 South Alabama Head Football coach Joey Jones added assistant #7 to his staff Monday in Auburn alum... Kurt Crain.

Crain played for the Tigers from 1985 to 1987... taking All-American honors at linebacker in '87.
He was drafted by the Houston Oilers in 1988... playing two season in the nfl.
His coaching career began at Auburn as a Grad Assistant in 1990... with coaching stops at Troy, TCU and back to the Tigers from '93 to '96 coaching the D-Line and Linebackers.
Crain was hired as Defensive Coordinator for the All-American Football League team in Birmingham... but he'll join the Jags staff as Linebackers coach.
