Poker players from around the world have gathered in Las Vegas for the start of the World Series of Poker Friday (5/30).160 million dollars in prize money are up for grabs at the tournament.
It costs ten thousand dollar to buy into the game, but there are plenty of people more than happy to pay.
Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack expects to beat last year's impressive numbers - 54 thousand players participating in 55 events over the next six weeks.
Pollack says there is a lot of prize money to be won, but this tournament is about measuring one's skills against the best in the world.
For the elder statesmen, this is old hat. For lesser-known players, even buying into the game is a dream come true.
