following a fight at the school in which police say she used pepper
spray on a group of girls and had a gun her car.
Authorities say 36-year-old Chauntrell Lajuan Jackson was
arrested at Robert E. Lee High School on Monday.
After police broke up the fight, officers say they found an
empty pepper spray case and a .25-caliber handgun in her car. The
police report says that Jackson told officers she forgot the gun
was in the car when she allowed her 16-year-old daughter to drive
to school.
A spokesman for the sheriff's office says Jackson was charged
with felony child abuse and misdemeanor failure to store a firearm
in a safe manner out of access to a minor.
