Transgender Man Claims He’s Pregnant

It may seem impossible -- but the man says he is expecting to give birth to a
baby girl in July.

(Fox News) A transsexual woman who has undergone reconstructive surgery and testosterone therapy, and who calls herself a "man," claims to be five months pregnant with a baby girl.
Oregon resident Thomas Beatie told "The Advocate" magazine that carrying a daughter for wife Nancy is an "incredible" experience.
The article carried a photo showing Beatie with an enlarged midsection, purportedly the result of being pregnant. Neighbors, however, think otherwise.
"Quite frankly, I think it's a hoax," neighbor Ron Schlieper told KATU News in Bend, Ore. "I saw him a few days ago and he didn't look like that," he said, referencing the photo posted on the Advocate.com Web site. "He was walking down the street with who I thought was his wife, Nancy, and I don't recall seeing a belly. If that (picture was taken) a month ago, he would have been much bigger just a few days ago."
Schlieper said Beatie's wife said she was pregnant, KATU News reported. Another neighbor said the couple left their house every week for fertility treatments in Portland.
Beatie, born a woman, has had a chest reconstruction and testosterone therapy, but decided to keep his female repoductive organs. Beatie claims to have become pregnant through artificial insemination.
"I stopped taking my bimonthly testosterone injections," Beatie told the magazine. "It had been roughly eight years since I had my last menstrual cycle, so this wasn’t a decision that I took lightly," Beatie said. "My body regulated itself after about four months, and I didn’t have to take any exogenous estrogen, progesterone, or fertility drugs to aid my pregnancy."
Beatie claims Nancy had a hysterectomy 20 years ago, and that's when they started thinking about Beatie carrying their child.
Beatie also claims this is her second pregnancy. The first was an ectopic pregnancy with triplets, she said.
"It was a life-threatening event that required surgical intervention, resulting in the loss of all embryos and my right fallopian tube," Beatie said. "When my brother found out about my loss, he said, 'It’s a good thing that happened. Who knows what kind of monster it would have been.'”
Beatie told the magazine the couple had begun experiencing anger from people offended by their decision.
"Doctors have discriminated against us, turning us away due to their religious beliefs. Health care professionals have refused to call me by a male pronoun or recognize Nancy as my wife," Beatie said. "Receptionists have laughed at us. Friends and family have been unsupportive; most of Nancy’s family doesn’t even know I’m transgender."

It’s not that uncommon, it’s just that until now we’ve tended to avoid the limelight. Why? Because of the attitudes expressed in some of the comments so far.

Technically, I’m not Transsexual, like this guy, but Intersexed. Still, close enough. Some Intersex conditions such as 5ARD and 17BHDD can cause a natural apparent sex change. Babies born with female-looking genitalia can masculinise, and some can even become fathers in the usual way. That’s about 1 in 100,000, my own condition is one is several million.

Transsexual people have brains that don’t match their bodies. Medical papers detailing autopsy results and MRI scans confirming this are freely available. But our mere existence makes others uncomfortable - hence the persecution we face. 5 of us were lynched or murdered for being what we are in the first 2 months of this year, 2 of us children. We can’t hide any more, so we educate.

Why is this story even considered “News”? Must have been a slow “news” day. If IT was born a woman and if IT still has all of IT’s female reproductive organs - why would it not be possible for IT to have a baby?

And furthermore - who cares? Let the disgusting thing call ITSELF whatever IT wants. IT was born a female, has its female parts, but looks like a male? I see women like that all day long unfortunately.

How about reporting actual news for a change?
