connection with an alleged plot to attack their teacher.
Police in Waycross say a group of third-graders brought a broken
steak knife, handcuffs, duct tape and other items to the school.
The Waycross police chief says the plot involving as many as
nine boys and girls at Center Elementary School was a serious
threat.
School officials alerted police Friday after a pupil tipped off
a teacher that a girl had brought a weapon to school. Chief Tony
Tanner says the students apparently planned to knock the teacher
unconscious with a crystal paperweight, bind her with the handcuffs
and tape and then stab her with the knife.
Tanner says the children, ages 8 to 10, were apparently mad at
the teacher because she had scolded one of them for standing on a
chair.
Two of the students have been arrested on juvenile charges. A
third arrest is expected.

Richardson Responds To Murphy Brawl

there is a better article about this in todays newspaper. Apparently only one or two of the kids actually wanted to hurt the teacher. They were in a special education class and they had pretty much the whole class in on it, some had to cover windows, some were supposed to clean up the mess, they had it all planned out and when a lot of the kids were questioned, they told the police that they thought the other kids were just kidding. And according to the paper, I believe 3 students were arrested, not 2… it was the ones that actually brought the knife, tape and paper weight to school.
Its on page 3A I believe. Much more information there pertaining to this one.
