As the court convenes this morning, the justices have 17 cases
left to resolve before the term ends in late June.
Major cases still undecided include a landmark Second Amendment
suit over what the Constitution means by the right to keep and bear
arms. Another case involves a Louisiana law that allows the
execution of people convicted of raping children. And the high
court has yet to rule on a 2-and-a-half-billion dollar judgment
against Exxon Mobil for the Exxon Valdez oil-spill disaster in
1989.
