PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Even before Sunday's Super Bowl game
began, football fans in Palm Beach County were sweating and
shouting at their televisions. An electrical problem knocked out
cable service for 180,000 customers in the area around Delray Beach
and Boca Raton for half an hour before the big game.
Service was restored just minutes before the kickoff of the game
between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants.
The glitch at a local circuit center knocked out service around
5:30 p.m. and cable service was restored about half an hour later.
"It is a very busy television night, as you can imagine, and we
are well-prepared for it. We have all our technical staff on
standby to take care of any issues," Comcast spokeswoman Marta
Casas-Celaya said on Sunday night, adding it was unclear what
caused the glitch.
Worried customers, however, were left in the dark, and
Casas-Celaya said she didn't know how many had called Comcast
seeking information.
"Everybody was outside freaking out," Frank Hoffman told The
Palm Beach Post.
Meanwhile, at a Lucille's Bad to the Bone BBQ restaurant
patrons, "just kept praying" according to Atlanta resident and
restaurant patron Kim Milburn.

Who really cares?  It’s all a bunch of noise anyway.  My husband wears a headset to keep me satisfied and keep the noise down in the house.  Go women!!
