BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A Birmingham stripper has filed suit
claiming that her job caused her to have a wreck on her way home
from work.

Patsy Hamaker's suit, which was filed in Jefferson County
circuit court last week, says part of her job as a dancer at The Furnace involved encouraging customers to buy her alcoholic drinks.
The suit alleges that managers let her leave work drunk on Oct. 17.
She wrecked her car, resulting in serious injury.

According to the suit, dancers receive a percentage of drink
sales. Hamaker seeks compensation for her injuries and additional
money to punish the club. Hamaker's lawyer, Alan Smith, declined
comment on where his client lives or whether she still works for
the club. The Birmingham News said Monday that efforts were
unsuccessful to reach the club's owner.

But you would be surprised at what Judges in the past have called “Employer Negligence”

Just because the customers buy her drinks, doesn’t mean she has to drink them. She could have called a cab. She could have taken the bus.

If she had killed someone in that wreck, I’m willing to bet that SHE, not her manager, would be charged with murder.

Must be the only club I know of that allows their strippers to get drunk on the job. All I have heard of serve them sprite or coke and part of the sales are given back to the stripper at the end of the night.  She aught to sue herself for being stupid for drinking and driving, the city aught to sue her for damages caused to city property, utility companies aught to sue her for anydamages to their property, etc.  Give me a break.
