Sen. Ted Kennedy Dead At 77

HYANNIS PORT, Mass. (AP) - Massachusetts Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the liberal lion of the Senate, has died after battling a brain tumor. He was 77.

Kennedy's family announced his death in a brief statement released early Wednesday.

For nearly a half-century in the Senate, Kennedy was a dominant voice on health care, civil rights, war and peace, and more. To the American public, though, he was best known as the last surviving brother of a storied political family.

Kennedy was elected to the Senate in 1962, when his brother John was president, and served longer than all but two senators in history.

Over the decades, Kennedy put his imprint on every major piece of social legislation to clear the Congress.

I just don’t see the need some people have to turn these people into something more than human. He was a shady character with a shady past. Part of the “ruling class” that only survive by pushing down others and making them dependent upon the federal government.

Always sad to read about someone passing, but I never liked the jerk. The reason he came out in support of Obama before the election and through Hillary under the bus was because of this health care reform BS. Maybe now that he is out of the way some sanity can come into that debate and we won’t all get shoved off a financial cliff.

He was a sad excuse for an American. Does Chappaquiddick ring a bell. He got away with murder and through his liberal ideaology has successfully help to degrade America. Too bad he had to die but sure glad he isn’t involved in government anymore.
