CLEVELAND (AP) - Madonna and John Mellencamp are among the nextinductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
They will be inducted next year along with The Ventures, Leonard
Cohen and The Dave Clark Five.
A panel of 600 music industry figures chose the inductees. The
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame indcution ceremony will be March 10th in
New York.
Rock Hall Foundation President Joel Peresman says the five acts
chosen this year are "trailblazers -- all unique and influential
in their genres." He says they "demonstrate the rich diversity of
rock and roll itself."
Artists are eligible for induction 25 years after the release of
their first single or album.
