The epicenter of the quake is believed to be six miles west of Reno near Mogul. On Thursday (4/24) this area saw a swarm of seismic actitivty with more than 100 quakes rattling the homes and buildings.
The biggest of Thursday's events was a quake of 4.2 magnitude.
The USGS has said that Friday's 4.7 quake was originally estimated to be 4.9.
The number was revised downward after more details were available.
The geologists have reported a 3.5 aftershock just after midnight that followed the main event. The USGS reports that at least 30 smalled tremblors shook the area in the early hours of Saturday (4/26) morning. .
The initial quake was felt 30 miles north in Portola, Calif., and at least 45 miles south near Stateline, Nevada, on Lake Tahoe's south shore.
At this stage there have been no reports of any injuries.
However, a flume near Mogul was damaged during the quake.
The structure was estimated to be about ten feet tall. About 100 feet of the structure collapsed.
