HOUSTON (AP) - A lawsuit brought against the wife of megachurchpastor Joel Osteen is being decided by a Texas jury. The panel is
considering accusations that she assaulted an airline flight
attendant.
During closing arguments today, Victoria Osteen's attorney told
jurors that the flight attendant made up the story in an effort to
get a big courtroom payday.
Sharon Brown's lawsuit accuses Osteen of abusing her before the
start of a 2005 flight from Houston to Vail, Colorado.
The suit claims the preacher's wife got so upset when a spill on
her seat wasn't quickly cleaned up that she threw Brown against a
bathroom door and elbowed her while attempting to rush into the
cockpit.
Both Osteens have testified that no attack took place. Other
passengers in the area say they saw no evidence of a fight.
