Some members of Congress are upset about the tanker contract being awarded to the Northrop Grumman. Lawmakers from Kansas and Washington State are upset in particular, because their two states would have gained thousands of jobs if Boeing, the heavy favorite, won the contract. Many senators and representatives want details on how the contract was awarded. But that information won't come before both Boeing and Northrop Grumman/EADS are debriefed by the Air Force on Friday. The backlash is coming from both sides of the aisle. Representatives Todd Tiahrt (R- Kansas) and Norm Dicks (D-Washington) had many concerns at a House Appropriations subcommittee on defense this morning. Hear what they had to say.

Reference, awarding the replacement Tanker contract to a foreign nation:
This is a proposer’s unthought-of absently idiotic thing to do. Of course Bowing Aircraft Co. will cost a little more. The US Government does not subsidies the shipping of parts and equipment to assemble the tankers for Bowing.
The US government does subsidize the shipping of materials and parts from foreign nation. If we lose the trades personnel that are required to manufacture our National Defense Projects because of Out Sourcing. We will not be able to manufacture in the future. Trade Deficit, aren’t we almost unbearably financially upside-down now?
