HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Oak Ridge Boys are up forauction on eBay.
The band is auctioning off a private New Year's Eve performance
to the highest bidder. The winner gets an intimate show for family
and friends in the venue of his or her choice.
Band member Richard Sterban says they'd even perform in a living
room -- and it wouldn't be the first time. He says they performed
for former President Bush and his wife Barbara in their living room
in Kennebunkport, Maine.
Sterban, however, is hoping the winner lives in a warm climate.
He says "either Hawaii or somewhere else that's tropical would be
really nice." He jokingly says "I'd even settle for the Grand
Cayman." But he says if they have to go to Alaska that would be
cool too.
The concert has a starting bid of $25,000. The eBay auction runs
through Sunday.
