PITTSBURGH (AP) - It definitely wasn't the romantic night they'denvisioned.
A newlywed couple spent it apart in separate jail cells -- she
in her wedding gown -- after police say they brawled with each
other, then with guests of another wedding party.
The fight started Saturday night after a reception when he
knocked her to the floor with a karate kick during an argument in
the hallway of a suburban Pittsburgh Holiday Inn.
It escalated when she allegedly attacked two guests from another
wedding party who came to her aid. At one point, metal planters
were thrown in the hotel lobby.
A police officer says things got "pretty wild."
The couple, who got married a month ago in the Bahamas, had just
repeated their vows at a reception for 150 guests.
They're facing assault and other charges and have a hearing next
week.
