UNDATED (AP) - All kinds of new laws go into effect today around the country.

In Oklahoma, there's a ban on the tattooing of eyeballs.

In Utah, you won't have to join a bar to enter one. The state is getting rid of its law allowing only private bars. But bars will have to electronically scan the ID card of anyone who seems younger than 35, and store the information for inspection by law enforcement.

Florida smokers will pay an additional $1 tax on a pack of cigarettes, and felony suspects in the state will have to provide DNA samples even if they're not convicted.

Connecticut is now the 16th state to adopt the Silver Alert system to help find missing adults with dementia and other cognitive impairments. It's
modeled after the Amber Alert system for missing children.

Tennessee drivers who get caught reading or sending cell phone text messages while behind the wheel will be fined $50.

The only name I could see someone getting tattooed on their body would be the name of a parent or child. Parents are forever your parents, and your children will always be your children. Boyfriends, lovers, and friends, however, come and go.

I work with a guy who has “SKYLINE” tattooed on his forearm. I asked him the other day “What does that mean to you? It’s a country club and a neighborhood to me.” And he told me it’s a Nissan available only in Japan and his friend owns two of them….

Really.

There’s also a downtown celebrity with a tattoo of an unicorn fighting a hammerhead shark to the death on his calf, and one of my friends has the letters C-A-M-E-L across the “knuckles” of his toes. (If you think dirty, you’ll really get it.)

Ha Ha. Carl I do not think you would last long with 5 dollar bills. Bad economic times. That is pretty much like hanging a piece of stake around your neck in the lion’s den.

LOL. Right that is real original. My friend I use to talk to in highschool got her b/f’s(now ex) initials tattooed on the back of her neck. I think that is the biggest mistake that one can make. I am married and would not even get his name put on me. I love him to death but I am not a piece of property to be marked.

Believe me,I’ve asked that question about pierced ears. Some things do make a person look better to other people but I would have to guess it’s more about self satisfaction.I think I would look good with a $1000 bill stuffed behind each ear but I don’t think that’s gonna happen and I probably wouldn’t last long out on the street.grin

Tattoos can be very beautiful and very expressive if they’re really thought out…

But then sometimes people get stupid stuff…I’m very much a part of the tattoo/piercing subculture in Mobile (I worked at a piercing shop here in town, and I know almost all of the artist here) so I’ve seen some great stuff and I’ve seen some horrible stuff. I’ll never forget the 16 year old girl who’s mother actually signed for her to get a PLAYBOY BUNNY logo tattooed on her low hip.

Yeah. That would be the only downfall to the tattoos. They are not kind to the aging process. However, having one a little less obvious would not be that bad. I am the same with constantly wanting to try a new look, so I do not know if I could go the whole tattoo route. My sister was always braver than I was. The rebel is what we called her. Not in the bad way though.

Carl, you sould ask the misses why she wanted to risk a serious infection or such, just to decorate her body with ear studs…
I promise her answer will have something to do with how they accent her face and make her feel pretty.

As someone with 12 holes in my body that god didn’t give me, I must say that I do it because I think they’re beautiful and I feel more attractive to my age group and subculture. I don’t plan on having them forever…I plan to let go of the ones in my face one by one after I graduate college.

Tattoos? No sir! I can’t pick a hair color to stick with, I know I can’t pick some body art to last forever. I was just talking last night to a local young lady who has a giant skull tattooed on her chest, which she recently got ruby jewels IMPLANTED into the eyeballs.

One day, she’s going to want to take her grandkids to the beach…and granny’s gonna have a skull…somewhere between her neck and her waist!

Yes she does have her ears pierced but you won’t catch anybody pierceing mine.grin
I think there should be freedom of choice by everyone who wants or don’t wants a tattoo,I just don’t understand why anyone would want too,and some tattoos are really pretty, but I’d rather see them on canvas or paper.I’m kind of squimish about getting any extra holes punched in me and ink injected.grin

KxVicious, i’m not an a@@ all the time. i’m just half the time. 1/2 mule

*hug* Ickthus sometimes you just make my day more enjoyable.
