NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The family of a teenage girl who wasassaulted by a man she met on MySpace is trying to get another day
in court. The family is asking a federal appeals court to revive
their lawsuit against the social networking Web site. The young
girl was sexually assaulted by a 19-year-old man she met online.
She was 13 at the time. MySpace rules say users have to be at least
14, but she misrepresented herself as 18 years old. A federal judge
in Austin, Texas dismissed the family's $30 million sit in February
of last year, rejecting the family's claim that MySpace has a legal
duty to protect young users from sexual predators. The family is
asking an appeals court in New Orleans to overturn the judge's
ruling. A three-judge panel heard arguments from both sides
yesterday, but didn't immediately rule on the appeal.

I agree I feel sorry for your daughter but you as a parent should know and see if not all the time at least a couple of times a day what your child does online.
He should be charged to the fullest but myspace cannot control what your child does as far a faking who they are only you can.
I am so sorry this happened to her noone deserves this.
