KENNEDY SPACE CENTER (AP) - Astronauts inside and outside theinternational space station have spent the day unloading a new
space lab from the shuttle Atlantis.
Using a robot arm, they lifted the two billion dollar European
lab, called Columbus, from the shuttle, and then attached it. It
took longer than expected to complete the work.
Remaining inside was a German astronaut who was supposed to help
with the hookup. He got sick after last week's liftoff, and was
replaced by an American crew member.
Columbus expands the space station to eight rooms. It will
attach directly to the Harmony compartment that was attached last
fall.

I am all for space exploration, that is the future of mankind if we don’t kill our selves off before hand, but with private industry doing it not a goverment agency. It would be interesting to see how much the american tax payer has put out so far for the international space station compared with the other countries involved in it.I have heard that we pay some of the bills for other countries to participate in this program.NASA spends billions on their programs and then decides what they will allow us to use or see.Try to get a picture from nasa ,from the hubble space telescope and they probably will tell you where to purchase one.
