being held on a five thousand dollar bond in southern Massachusetts Thursday

Police say 30 year old Michelle Henry watched her boyfriend burn her son's
genitals with a cigarette in addition to beating him and urinating on him.
Her boyfriend, David Privette, is being held without bail. Henry is due back in court on May first. She was ordered to stay away from all
children including her own who were placed with child state services.
A former friend of Henry's said she called child services twice and they did
not respond.
The child's biological father, Delgado Henry, said he's worried about the
child's safety and that of his three year old who was also taken from the
home.
She pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless endangerment and assault and
battery on a child causing injury. Her attorney said Henry has a history of
mental illness.
A Department of Social Services official has acknowledged it should have more
thoroughly investigated earlier reports the boy was being abused.

Statistics show that one in 50 babies are abused. One in four girls have been sexually abused by the time they reach 18. Where are the extended families when children need protection? What is the answer? States now routinely arrest BOTH parties in cases of domestic abuse. Would you want to call the police if you knew that you would be arrested no matter what? In domestic abuse cases, aren’t the children being abused too? Either it is emotional abuse or someone is taking things out on the kids physically? I am tired about caring for the rights of parents. We need to prosecute child abuse. No IFs ANDs or BUTs. Love Mercy.
