EDGEWATER, Fla. (AP) - The shark bite capital of the world has
claimed its first victim of 2008.
Volusia County authorities say a 25-year-old surfer was nipped
on his left foot Friday as he dangled his feet into the water. His
name was not immediately released.
A beach patrol spokesman says he was bandaged up at the scene
then he drove himself to Bert Fish Medical Center.
The University of Florida named Volusia County the shark bite
capital of the world, for at least six years.
