MIAMI (AP) - A 20-year-old South Florida man who threatened tore-enact massacre like the one that happened on the Virginia Tech
campus has been released on bond.
Detective Antonio Aquino says Homestead Police discovered Calin
Chi Wong's weapons cache two days after Oregon authorities learned
of an Internet message he posted on March 25th that threatened to
re-enact campus killings.
Wong is not enrolled in college. Authorities say he graduated
from an Oregon high school and attended college for a year before
moving in with his parents in Florida.
Wong is charged with making written threats to kill or do bodily
injury via the computer.
Police say he had 13 firearms and more than 5,000 rounds of
ammunition -- including some that could pierce armor.
Wong reportedly told authorities that the weapons were an
investment.
