BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Hunters in Louisiana have a tax break
coming this weekend.
Friday is the start of a three-day tax-free shopping program
focusing on firearms, ammunition and other outdoors equipment.
Local local and state taxes will also be waived on clothes, shoes,
bags, off-road vehicles, airboats, knives, decoys, duck blinds and
other equipment.
Gun shop owners say customers are planning to stock up, just as
dove season begins.

amen ickthus, they acted like Nazis.a lot of their guns were never returned either, they were told that they had been destroyed.yea right, more like added to the crooked cops gun collections.

Kx You missed a lot then. There was footage of the L.E.O. (most were from out of state) knocking on doors and asking if you had firearms. If you said yes they knocked you to the ground and took them. Some 85-year-old lady told them yes and she showed them her pistol. It was dam near as old as her. They were in her home mind you talk nice and they dropped her like a 19 yr old thug that had them on a 30 mile chase. People getting out of boats coming from there homes with guns in there cases. They were not even in the city. They had what they could get out of their homes and held at gunpoint while they took only the guns from them. Laws are in place so this cannot happen again. Your rights are not as safe as you think. Do you know what protects your rights? You do!! And that is why Thomas Jefferson and a few others gave us the second Amendment. He says so in clear statements. To keep us safe from our own government as well as other harm. It shall not be called into question. It scares me our children do not know what we have fought and died for.

I didn’t realize that anyone’s guns had been taken illegally, I was just giving commentary on all the footage of citizens shooting at the EMTs, rescue helicopters, and MPs that were trying to rescue peoople and restore order to the city.

Re-arm? The few guns they did take were done illegally and they got there back side sued over it. Laws have been passed to make sure it does not happen again. Glad it did not happen to me when I was down there after the storm helping. I would have only given them some of the ammo. It is good to see some help go to something thing that is part of our culture and history.  Teddy would be proud.

Haha. Ok. So we’re only days away from the Katrina anniversary and they’re already to re-arm the citizens of Lousiana? Let’s hope the levees hold this year….
