BOSTON (AP) - Senator Edward Kennedy's doctor says the76-year-old Democratic icon did not suffer a stroke and "is not in
any immediate danger.
Dr. Larry Ronan says Kennedy is "resting comfortably," and was
watching the Red Sox game with his family."
He says there will be further tests over the next couple of days
to determine the cause of the seizure.
Kennedy felt ill this morning at his home and was taken first to
a Cape Cod hospital. He was then airlifted to Massachusetts General
in Boston.
In October, he had surgery to repair a nearly complete blockage
in a major neck artery. Kennedy, the second-longest serving member
of the Senate, was elected in 1962, filling out the term won by his
brother, President John F. Kennedy.
Kennedy's Senate colleagues -- including the three leading
presidential candidates and the Senate majority leader -- have
expressed hope for a speedy recovery.
